I agree. Cmon you simian upstarts, you know damn well you are forcing the poor thread off topic. Telling someone not to take their own thread seriously is kinda...I dunno, well, a double standard ain't it?

The kid asked about a GC bargain we could shed light on, he wants to buy one. I posted some links, and then.....it went back to pie n the goons.

For now it's an exclusive. But there's a lot of rumor going around it will be
ported onto XBOX 360 with a couple new chars....but right now nothing's
confirmed.

And to the OP; SSBM is a MUST. I've logged over 300 hours into mine
and I'm still not bored....

Disagree, I have both console and pc and lots of games for both. The PC halo port is bad (graphics engine wise). I can run Doom 3 on medium to high setting and run Halo on Medium with my video card trying to catch up ><. It's>
One thing I like is with games on consoles the graphics keep getting better with the best (graphics) coming out at the tail end of there life cycles (it takes dev that long to get really good a programing for them and when the do, new console )

You don't have to worry (at least for now) about having buggy console games, if dev released an common pc game for the console like they do in the pc indurstry, they face expensive recall's. Unfortunally this is changing with dev having an hard drive in future system that can patch games. Dreading this change.

There are a lot of games that I love on console that are not made for the pc. Fighting 2x2 games, anime rpg's such as Final Fantasy, Xenosaga, Suikoden series, as well as the Tenchi (ninja) series, and Dynasty warriors like games are almost non-existent.

In regards to tech, your right, the pc will leap frog the console in terms of capacity pretty quick. This will be true of the Xbox360 and PS3, there ahead of computers now but even microsoft is selling Direct X 10 and it's capacity with windows vista on yet to be created hardware and how it will be better then xbox360.

Resident Evil 4 is a must buy for the Cube. The gameplay and graphics are outstanding and you will definately be on edge at all times running.

SSBM is of course a no brainer. At my college everyone plays that in the "Roost" area. Always a ton of fun.

Donkey Konga is a fun game and once you get people into it is a fun ride. Only thing is it is hard to get people to join in and take time to learn it.

Tales of Symphonia is a solid RPG with a ton to do. Not to mention the fighting is amazingly intuitive and fun. Story is fairly solid and is definately the better RPG on the CUBE.

Baten Kaitos I never really cared for the characters and got about 6 hours or so into it and decided to return it back to blockbuster.

Skies of Arcadia is a game you shouldnt miss. I never had it for the cube, but I did play it for a very long time getting everything on the Dreamcast. If you want to play an RPG and havent touched this on the Cast then I assure you this is one you wont put down anytime soon.

Metroid Prime 1/2 I played Metroid Prime and was addicted to it. Trying to find all the upgrades and just having fun being Samus was a blast. I never got around to 2 but I heard it was even better. I may pick it up some time soon and give it a shot.

If you have any time for imports and want a fun 4 player fighter you may look into the Naruto series. They have 1,2,3 (I have 2 and 3) and 4 is coming out I think next week or very very soon. Yesterday we played it for 4 hours straight, and this is also a game played at my college even more than smash bros. Then again we have alot of anime peeps in there lol.

Mario Kart DD, what can I say? I had three other friends over almost every day when I first had this bad boy. We spent HOURS unlocking and beating everything. The single player campaign type races can be done with friends, so we helped eachother out. The teamwork and strategy used in that game is nearly endless and is so much better with friends. Still solid if you are alone.

Windwaker As stated above do NOT let the cel shaded graphics turn you off. When I first saw the screenshots YEARS ago I was skeptical. I kept an open mind, and when playing the demo at EB games I was hooked and knew it was something. It is a classic zelda game and the graphics make objects really animated and come to life. It is a must play as well.

Pikmin 1/2 Played and loved them both, but they are rentals. You get the just of the game, see how creative and fun it is, and then you are done with no replay value. Great rental.

Animal Crossing was a game that I bought and, for me at least, got old really fast. No online play limits this game to you and a bunch of NPC's bleh. The DS game may be interesting, I will have to wait and see.

Metal Gear Solid on the game cube did not do it for me. Then again I did not give it much of a chance. I rented it with my rental pass, popped it in and instantly returned it there after. I loved the Original MGS on the PS1 but this one was just bleh.

Harvest Moon I was looking so forward to playing. Im glad I rented before I bought. The graphics are not really up to par, and the gameplay is extremely repetative and its lacking in depth. I was dissapointed in it and I gave it a good amount of play time too. It just did not pull me in like the GB versions did.

I have owned and played many games thoughout the gamecubes life and these are some of the ones I would say are must plays. I may be missing a few if anyone has any other additions please feel free to refresh my memory!
!! whered you get the naruto 2 and 3. Ive been waiting for those.

simple, I own all consoles known to man, and I love upgrading my computer, but as for GameCube, here's a list that won't be too half bad:

1. Tales of Symphonia. Need I say it again? One of the best RPGs I've EVER played, the plot is sickeningly cool =)

2. Baten Kaitos: Another very cool RPG.

3. Viewtiful Joe: AWESOME game, even Xplay gave it a 5/5.

4. Viewtiful Joe 2: Need I say more?

5. Zelda: The Twilight Princess: GET this when it comes out for some cool play. I already played trailers of it at an E3-pre-expose.

6. The Zelda Compilation disk: Zelda at a cheap and afforable price, has even the 64 versions. Solid Choice.

7. Zelda: The Wind Waker: Cell-Shaded Goodness!

8. Metroid Prime = AWESOME FPS. I highly recommend it.

9. Blood Rayne 1/2: Killing Nazis? Why not!

10. Zelda: The Four Swords for Gamecube. I liked not having to have four gameboys hooked up. and controlling 4 links to solve puzzles? Awesomeness.

11. PRINCE OF PERSIA: Sands of Time/The Warrior Within/The Two Thrones: An enthrilling trilogy. A must buy for ANY prince fan. The Two Thrones ships 29th of this month. I recommend it.

12. Geist: A ghost possessing people and objects for puzzle solving adventure fun!

13. Super Smash Brothers: Melee : For a party time, this old classic can't fade.

These are just some of my choices, if you like them and want more, I'll be happy to private message you; or email you with more.

I actually didn't find the plot in Tales of Symphonia to be that compelling. Rather, I found it fairly predictable. "Save the world... overly principled savior (hi Yuna)... religion isn't what is seems (hi Yu Yevon)". The battle system was lots of fun though. That's mostly what kept me playing it.

Skies of Arcadia is really a better RPG overall. You eventually get your own ship and a base, which you can upgrade. The story is fairly pedestrian also, but I just find it to be a lot more fun.

EDIT: Woo hoo! Post 1,000 baby.

Anyway, I've come across 450 bucks and I want to blow it all on a gamecube and a bunch of games. So far I've decided what to get for games but the problem is the cube. I want to get a bundle so It comes with a game, however I can't find the right one. I've found one with Super smash bros. Melee, One with a pokemon game, those are 99.99, Then I found one where I can choose any gamers choice game, for 139.99 Which dosen't make any sense since the game I want to get with that bundle is only 20 bucks, and a cube alone is 99.

So heres my plight, if anyone feels like being helpful, find me the BEST gamecube deal possible. Ebay isn't an option, I want brand new. Thanks!
don't do it. you might be dissapointed.

i ain't no fanboy, because this is coming from a once-proud gamecube owner.

the games are mostly mediocre, plus the 3rd-generation consoles are coming out this month.

Xbox 360, PS3....and then Nintendo Revolution. ETA: next year.

but, as for games on the 'cube:

i was never able to buy many games while i had it, but i did get a couple.

SSBM: obviously. always great fun in large groups. it got kind of boring after a while, though.

Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker: spectacular game, even though i haven't finished it yet.

Resident Evil 1: :P i got too scared to play it after a while. (i want RE:4 though)

Robotech: Battlecry: biggest mistake ever. this game sucks major.

Skies of Arcadia: Legends: while this is an updated port of the Dreamcast version, it's still missing some stuff: a better updated battle system (people run around for no apparent reason...no strategy involved), and better graphics. they're still reminiscent of the N64. either way, though...this game was THE BEST RPG i've ever played. period. no other game had me sucked in like Skies of Arcadia could.

and...that's it. i'm dissapointed that i couldn't get Tales of Symphonia or RE:4. but still, i'd rather have an Xbox or PS2. scratch that, just XBox.

I hate when people say you "might" be dissapointed, when the person might never had played the GameCube. I suggest Buying all systems! Like Myself! =)

This way, whenever you have an urge, you can plug-n-play any system with games you love.

It never dissapoints when Xbox gets boring with FPS, Western style games, I go to ps2 for fighting games and RPGs , and when I'm done on them, for overall gameplay, I go to GameCube.

Luckily, I had a crappy paying job for ..like 2 years, then I left, because like, they wouldn't give me a raise..

But yeah, how can you be disappointed with it? What do you think it lacks? I love the multiplayer games on it, I loved playing Tales with multiple people, it made real-time battles fricking cool =)
